Crime

Probationary Tenancy Vacancy – Employment

October/November 2023 start

As a result of the Employment and Discrimination team’s success, a rare opportunity arises for an enthusiastic and able candidate to join us as probationary tenant. We seek an individual who is committed to building a successful employment practice, ideally joining us in October / November 2023.  This probationary position will last for six months, following which an application for full tenancy may be made. Interviews are likely to be held in the week commencing 11th September 2023. This position is not funded. Interest-free loans are available at the discretion of Chambers.

The employment team is recognised by the legal directories as being one of the leading regional employment sets, with the team being ranked tier 1 on circuit by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.  The team’s work is sourced nationally and from highly rated law firms, as well as from the Government Legal Department, blue chip companies and charities, amongst others.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate intellectual ability, excellent communication/advocacy skills, and an ability to work under pressure as well as flexibility of thinking, sound judgement and good interpersonal skills.  Candidates should also demonstrate market awareness and commitment to specialist practice with the employment team.  With a busy workload, a ‘can do’ attitude is a must.

In addition to a supervisor, the probationary tenant will be offered a mentor from the team providing support and advice during this formative period of the candidate’s career.  The responsive and caring clerking team provides an additional source of support and guidance.

Probationary Tenancies Vacancy – Property & Estates, Insolvency and Commercial

We are inviting applications for a third-six probationary tenancy with a view to full tenancy within either our Property & Estates, Insolvency and/or Commercial teams. Successful candidates will be joining a busy team and have the opportunity to gain experience in various different aspects of work. It is hoped that the successful candidate will be able to start asap upon completion of their 12-month pupillage, it is envisaged that the duration of the probationary tenancy will be circa six months.

We are looking for dynamic and driven individuals who can demonstrate experience one or more of these fields, along with an interest and commitment to developing a successful practice.
