Katie specialises in the property and affairs side of Court of Protection work, as part of her wider property, estates and chancery practice. Katie deals with a wide array of property and affairs work, including statutory wills, cases involving allegations of financial abuse, deputyship applications and authorisation of transactions and lifetime gifts. Recently, Katie has advised on a complex issue as to the limit of the Court of Protection’s jurisdiction and the most appropriate forum for the proposed proceedings, in the particular circumstances of the case.
Katie often delivers seminars and talks on topics within her areas of specialism, particularly where those overlap, most recently delivering a talk on best practice in will-drafting (when dealing with would-be testators of questionable capacity) and best practice in statutory will applications (when a would-be testator certainly lacks capacity).
