Adam was called to the Bar 1975 and appointed a Recorder in 1994 with both civil and family tickets. He specialises in personal injury and clinical negligence litigation but also advises in professional negligence claims arising out of personal injury and family proceedings. Adam is a member of PIBA and a regular contributor to JPIL.

Personal Injury
Adam is regularly instructed by both large defendant insurers, and also by claimants. Due to his experience at the Bar he has dealt with all types of personal injury claims including:

In suitable cases Adam is keen to promote the benefit of joint settlement meetings, particularly in claims of the utmost severity, which usually lead to early and amicable resolutions. A significant amount of his recent work has been in assisting in the settlement of cases, carried out through joint settlement meetings (approximately 32) and mediations (4). If settlement cannot be achieved, then he is a resolute advocate.

Clinical Negligence
In his clinical negligence work (accounting for about 35% of his practice) he has dealt with claims for missed and inappropriate diagnoses; a case of poor protection of child patients; failed operations; poor A&E management; GP negligence; and poor prison health.

Professional Negligence
He also has a longstanding practice in professional negligence, particularly claims concerned with failed personal injury or clinical negligence claims, but also in relation to failed claims in Financial Relief post divorce.

He has contributed to JPIL and the Personal Injury team Newsletter and Seminar program on various current topics. He has recently been involved in lecturing and in cases on the impact of the new Ogden Tables (6th Ed) particularly with regard to discounts for contingencies other than mortality.
