Guildhall Chambers is one of the UK’s leading sets. We have adopted a specialist team approach and feel that this best meets the needs of our clients.
Due to a vacancy arising within its busy Employment and Discrimination team, it invites applications from established practitioners of up to 10 years’ call to join it.
We are also looking for an enthusiastic and able third six pupil who is committed to building a practice within our busy Employment and Discrimination team.
Applicants for both positions should be able to demonstrate intellectual ability, excellent communication/advocacy skills, and an ability to work under pressure as well as flexibility of thinking, sound judgment and good interpersonal skills. Candidates should also demonstrate marketplace awareness and a clear commitment to a specialist practice with the Employment and Discrimination team.
Applicants should send a CV, including names of referees, and covering letter to email@example.com. The covering letter should demonstrate why you are applying for the opportunity and provide evidence of the skills identified in the recruitment criteria above.
If you would like to discuss the opportunity further, please email or telephone our Head of Chambers, Anna Vigars QC or Debbie Grennan, Employment and Discrimination Team Leader, in the first instance, who will be happy to address any enquiries.
Our selection process aims to be rigorous and fair, and to comply with the BSB Handbook and Pupillage Handbook, and the Bar Council’s Fair Recruitment Guide. We select on the basis of ability and potential alone, without regard to disability, gender, race, age, sexual orientation or religious or political affiliation. Applications will be treated in confidence.
Whilst we usually require a minimum 2:1 degree class, candidates with a 2:2 will be considered where there are extenuating circumstances.
Deadline for applications: 12.00 noon on 10 August 2018.
