Current Pupils

Guildhall Chambers currently has three pupils: Oliver Lewis in Insolvency, Caighli Taylor in Crime and Matthew Brown in Property.

Oliver Lewis - INSOLVENCY
Oliver was born in West Wales and graduated from University College London with a degree in Philosophy. He subsequently took a degree in Law at City Law School, graduating with First Class Honours before completing an LLM at the London School of Economics. A member of Lincoln’s Inn, Oliver commenced pupillage in September 2010 under the supervision of Richard Ascroft and hopes to develop a practice in insolvency law.

Caighli Taylor - CRIME
Caighli was born in Chester and brought up in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. In 2008 she graduated from New College, Oxford, with a Law degree and went on to complete the BVC at Manchester Metropolitan University. Caighli is keen to develop a criminal practice and commenced pupillage in September 2011 under the supervision of Brendon Moorhouse.

Matthew Brown - PROPERTY
Matthew was born in the South West and holds a First Class undergraduate Law degree from Cardiff University, where he was also awarded the Sweet and Maxwell Law Prize, for graduating top of his year. Matthew later read for the Bachelor of Civil Law at Pembroke College, Oxford where he obtained a Distinction. After being awarded a major scholarship by the Middle Temple, he undertook the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of the West of England, where he was graded ‘Outstanding’ and received the Faculty of Business and Law Prize for obtaining the highest overall mark on the course. Matthew commenced pupillage in October 2011 under the supervision of Tim Walsh, and hopes to develop a practice in property law.
