Undertaking a mini pupillage is an important part of the process of applying to become a barrister.
A mini pupillage at Guildhall Chambers involves spending three days in Chambers, shadowing one or more barristers. Hopefully you will be able to experience all the elements of the life of a barrister - being in court, in conference with lay clients and solicitors, advising in writing, and drafting legal documents. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about pupillage and the application procedure and to talk to members of Chambers generally about their profession.
At Guildhall Chambers we receive far more applications for mini-pupillages than we have places available. To be considered please fill in the online mini-pupillages application form which is accessed by the menu on the left.
The closing date for mini-pupillages taking place during Summer 2010 is 31 March 2010. Offers are then made in April 2010 for mini-pupillages to take place during the summer months (although August is usually avoided because many courts do not sit and there is consequently less to see).
Applicants for mini pupillage should normally have already commenced their degree course.
All applications and queries regarding mini-pupillages should be directed to James Haskell.
