Anna Vigars KC and Ramin Pakrooh prosecute in UK’s longest cold case

03/07/2025

Guildhall Chambers’ barristers, Anna Vigars KC and Ramin Pakrooh, prosecuted Ryland Headley, a 92-year-old, for the rape and murder in 1967 of Louisa Dunne in what is now recognized as the UK’s longest cold case.

The case, which remained unsolved for nearly six decades, was brought to a close by a combination of the very extensive police investigation in the 1960s and modern scientific techniques.  Mr Headley has now been given a life sentence with a 20 year minimum term.
