23/06/2026

Alistair Haggerty and Caitlin Evans successfully prosecuted a defendant for fraud following a four-week trial at Exeter Crown Court.

The defendant worked as a bookkeeper and, over a nine-year period, she embezzled funds from a local charity which had employed her part-time as their Treasurer. The defendant used the money to pay for holidays and home renovations, as well as her personal business liabilities.

The defendant will be sentenced in August.
