Nicholas joined the crime team as a tenant in 2019, following his pupillage under the supervision of Mary Cowe. He prosecutes and defends in the magistrates’ court, Youth Court and Crown Court.
Nicholas welcomes instructions in all areas of criminal law. He has prosecuted and defended in trials in the Crown Court, and appeared in multi-day trials in the magistrates' court and the Youth Court. He is a CPS Grade 2 panel advocate.
Prior to joining Guildhall Chambers, Nicholas spent several years working across finance and criminal law. He worked in investment banking compliance, the legal department of the European Central Bank, and as a caseworker at a legal aid firm. He therefore has experience advising both white collar clients and vulnerable defendants, and he appreciates the importance of teamwork between solicitors and counsel.
Nicholas welcomes instructions in regulatory cases. He is currently instructed in a prosecution by the Insolvency Service. His experience in investment banking compliance provides relevant experience in cases of this nature.
