Saisha Bacon is building a broad practice in line with Chambers’ specialisms and is a member of the Commercial and Insolvency teams. Her practice includes advocacy, advisory and drafting work at all stages of proceedings.

Saisha appears in both the High Court and County Court in relation to commercial and insolvency matters at all stages of proceedings. Saisha is also comfortable working as junior counsel on more complex matters and has been led by senior members of both the Insolvency and Commercial teams.

Expertise

Saisha enjoys a broad commercial practice. She is regularly instructed in Fast Track and Small Claims matters in the County Court together with interim applications in the High Court. She is regularly instructed to deal with cases involving:

  • general contract law;
  • sale of goods;
  • consumer contracts;
  • construction disputes;
  • professional negligence
  • partnership disputes;
  • unfair prejudice petitions and other company disputes;
  • energy disputes;
  • banking and financial services; and
  • a wide variety of interim applications including; setting aside default judgment, strike-out applications, applications to amend statements of case, applications seeking permission to rely upon expert evidence, and applications regarding allocation

As part of her advisory and drafting work, Saisha has settled pleadings and advice notes in a range of matters including small claims as well as high-value cases.

Saisha accepts instructions in a wide variety of personal and corporate insolvency matters. She is frequently instructed by officeholders, companies and company directors, litigation funders, bankrupts and other insolvency process stakeholders and has appeared in both the County Court and High Court. Saisha’s recent insolvency work has included:

  • bankruptcy petitions and winding-up petitions;
  • applications to set aside statutory demands (for both creditors and debtors);
  • applications to restrain the presentation/advertisement of winding up petitions;
  • annulment applications;
  • applications for possession and sale;
  • breach of duty claims;
  • advising on the transaction avoidance provisions and misfeasance claims;
  • applications under s.279 of the Insolvency Act 1986; and
  • administration applications.

Saisha is comfortable advising and drafting pleadings/applications in a wide range of matters and has advised in cases involving transactions at an undervalue and preferences and on possession and sale applications.

Saisha is happy to accept instructions under a Conditional Fee Agreement.

Saisha has acted for clients in a range of property matters including appearing for landlords, tenants and banks in possession claims and advising on and drafting forfeiture claims.
