Insolvency

"Guildhall Chambers houses a strong bench of barristers experienced in the handling of a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters."

Guildhall Chambers’ Insolvency team is one of the largest insolvency teams with a national reputation outside of London.

Recognised by Chambers & Partners as “a centre of excellence for insolvency counsel”, “the go-to set for insolvency matters in the West of the country” and a “go-to set for restructuring matters – you know when you instruct Guildhall that your barrister will be a dedicated and focused insolvency expert who will provide sound and reliable advice.”

We accept instructions in all areas of contentious and non-contentious corporate and personal insolvency, including directors’ disqualification proceedings, cross-border insolvencies and regulatory proceedings against insolvency practitioners. We also advise on non-contentious insolvency issues, corporate recovery and turnaround.

Members of Guildhall Chambers’ Insolvency team are instructed by leading firms of insolvency lawyers, insolvency office holders and regulatory bodies. Several members of the team are members of the Attorney General’s Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown and receive instructions from Government departments, including the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Official Receiver and HM Revenue and Customs.
