Our members offer advice and representation in relation to requests for information pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004, and in relation to duties owed under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Our recent work includes:

  • Advising on the disclosure of financial viability information in the planning process.
  • Advising on the inter-relationship between duties under FOIA and disclosure obligations in JR proceedings.
  • Advising on and appearing in applications asserting Public Interest Immunity in criminal proceedings following a request for disclosure of social services records.
  • Advising schools and local authorities on the extent of their obligations under the FOI Act 2000 and DPA 1998 following requests for information.
