The 10-strong team, which includes a leading insolvency Queen’s Counsel, provide focused advocacy and advice on all aspects of contentious insolvency law, including:

  • Corporate insolvency, including administrations, liquidations and CVAs.
  • Personal insolvency, including bankruptcy and IVAs.
  • Asset recovery, including obtaining freezing orders and other ancillary relief.
  • Directors' liabilities and prosecuting and defending directors' disqualification proceedings.
  • Disciplinary matters concerning Insolvency Practitioners and Insolvency Practitioner's liability.
  • Cross-border insolvency, including the EU Insolvency Regulation and UNCITRAL Model Law on Insolvency Proceedings.

Team members also advise on non-contentious insolvency issues, corporate recovery and turnaround.

The team is instructed by leading firms of insolvency lawyers, insolvency office holders and regulatory bodies. Several members of the team are members of the Attorney General’s Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown and receive instructions from Government departments, including the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and HM Revenue and Customs.
