UK Athletics Report on full implementation of the Quinlan Review recommendations

15 Sep, 2021

UK Athletics (UKA) has published a final report to mark the full implementation of the Christopher Quinlan QC Safeguarding Review recommendations.

The review process began in March 2020 when an Independent Review of Safeguarding Provision in Athletics was announced. To ensure independence Christopher Quinlan QC, head of our sports team, was appointed to undertake the Review and a final report was published in July 2020. The report made six core and 23 additional recommendations to improve existing and future safeguarding provision in the sport, and UKA in collaboration with the Home Country Athletics Federations (HCAFs) has now implemented all of them.

The Quinlan Review recommendations also included additional education, training and support to be provided to coaches, clubs and other key roles within athletics.
