Sam Jones prosecutes International Logistics Firm for Health & Safety Failings

13/02/2023

Sam Jones, instructed by Swindon Borough Council, successfully prosecuted GXO Logistics Services UK for Health and Safety failings at one of its UK depots in Swindon.

The Defendant Company pleaded guilty to an offence contrary to section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, acknowledging it had failed to keep its employees safe at work. Those failings contributed to an accident involving one of its employees when she was trapped between cages and sustained injuries whilst working picking stock at one of the company’s warehouses at their distribution centre in Swindon.

The company was fined £125,000 and order to pay over £80,000 in costs.
