23 Jun, 2020
Today the Prime Minister announced significant changes to the coronavirus regime.
In summary, the '2 metre rule’ becomes the ‘1 metre plus mitigation rule’ (‘mitigation’ includes; face coverings on public transport, handwashing, screens, being outside as much as possible and limiting time spent with others).
Pubs/bars, restaurants/cafes, hairdressers and hotels etc can re-open on 4 July 2020. Sector by sector guidance will be issued to businesses. Businesses operating in the ‘hospitality sector’ will be expected/required to take contact details from customers (to assist with ‘track and trace’).
A fuller list of businesses allowed to re-open on 4 July 2020 will be published in due course.
Any further amendment to the (English) Regulations and to NPCC guidance will be added when available.
The consolidated Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 following the fourth amendment on 13 June 2020, can be found here
The most significant amendment was Reg 7A which relates to “linked households”.
The extant NPCC guidance for England was updated on 13 June 2020 to include linked households. It can be found here
