Live streamed Seminar: Virtual Hearings: Covid 19 and Beyond

31/03/2020

Due to the unprecendented reponse we have had to this seminar we have decided to run the seminar on a second date, Wednesday 1st April.

We will accommodate all those that register and we will be in contact with you shortly to ask you for your preferred time slot.

Preparing and Running Employment Tribunal Hearings

The Covid-19 pandemic has already had far-reaching consequences, one of which is that self-isolation and remote working has become the new normality and will continue as such for the foreseeable future.

Following the recent announcements from HMCTS and the President of the Employment Tribunals, there is an obvious imperative to adapt to these new working conditions. Guildhall Chambers have considerable experience working electronically and are fully equipped to attend virtual hearings.

We invite you to join us for a short 45-minute seminar, during which we will share our expertise in how to prepare for and manage an effective remote hearing. This seminar will cover:

  1. The Tools: the hardware and software required;
  2. Electronic Bundles:  creating and formatting documents for hearings;
  3. Case Management: the steps required for an effective hearing;
  4. Virtual Hearings: the practical issues facing the advocates, solicitors and witnesses and how they might be overcome, and
  5. Q & A: your opportunity to have any queries answered and to share your thoughts with others.

The seminar will take place on (1) Tuesday 31 March at 3:00pm and 8:00pm (the latter as a family-friendly option) or (2) Wednesday 1st April at 10:00am or 6:00pm and will be accessible via a link to Guildhall Chambers’ Microsoft Teams online software.

Please click on the ‘book now’ blue button towards the top right of the screen and complete the booking form should you wish to register for your free place. You will then receive a seperate email asking you for your preferred time slot.
