In this series, our Head of Chambers Hugh Sims KC sits down with members of chambers to discuss life at the Bar.
Taking inspiration from the BBC’s Desert Island Discs, each conversation uncovers the formative experiences, influences, and defining moments that have shaped a life at the Bar, from their path into law to memorable cases which have left a mark.
Instead of choosing a luxury item for their desert island, each guest is invited to select the one luxury barrister they would take with them.
Musical choices are discussed, and guests occasionally demonstrate their vocal talents, with varying degrees of success.
The first episode sees Hugh in conversation with our mini-pupils, reflecting on his career at Guildhall Chambers, the lessons he has learned along the way, and the experiences that have shaped his journey in practice.
