BPC Bristol Forum Seminar Series – Unfair Prejudice: Limitation, Valuation Date and Valuation Matters

The seminar is a first in what is intended to be a regular series of talks on topics of interest to BPC practitioners, academics, and students based in or around Bristol and the South West.

The theme for the first event is unfair prejudice and will be held at Burges Salmon’s office on Glass Wharf, near Bristol Temple Meads.

PROGRAMME

5:00-5:30 – Joining

5:30-5:40 – Chair’s address (The Honourable Mr Justice Zacaroli)

5:40-6:00 – Time’s up for unfair prejudice petitions: limitation periods following THG plc v Zedra Trust Co (Jersey) Ltd [2024] EWCA Civ 158 (Richard Ascroft, Guildhall Chambers)

6:00-6:20 – Timing is everything: the date of valuation in unfair prejudice (Charles Newington-Bridges, St John’s Chambers)

6:20-6:40 – For what it’s worth: valuation factors, where value lies and who wants control (Geoff Mesher, Managing Partner at Tempest Forensic Accounting UK LLP)

6:40-7:15 – Close and drinks and nibbles
