To mark International Women’s Day, the Devon & Somerset Law Society (Junior Lawyers Division) are hosting a panel of distinguished female lawyers. They will talk about a variety of topics important to women in the legal profession. Sarah Hornblower has been asked to represent the Bar. Sarah will be talking about gender remuneration, including what the statistics may reveal.
She will also provide a unique insight into her own experience of two decades at the bar. For 13 years of this time, she has also been a mum. This year’s campaign theme is ‘𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻’. The strapline is ‘𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.’ Gender inequality is just one of many injustices Sarah is passionate should be eradicated. Exeter Phoenix will host the ‘Women in the Law’ event on 18 March 2025, from 6–7 pm.
