Low value procurement under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015

21/03/2015

The new Public Contracts Regulations 2015 were published on 6 February, and come into force (subject to some exceptions) on 26 February.

The new Regulations implement the EU Public Sector Directive 2014/24, but also contain a set of UK-specific rules (“national” provisions), including for procurements below the EU financial thresholds.

The national provisions, as enacted in the 2015 Regulations, are different in important respects from the draft provisions which were subject to consultation in 2014.

Jorren Knibbe gave a talk on 10th February to the South Wales branch of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. Please click here to view the slides.  They provide a first look at the new national provisions, including as they apply to below-threshold procurement.
