We are delighted to announce that from July, Christy Farrer, will be joining Guildhall Chambers as our new CEO.
After over 5 years at the helm, Jeremy Sweetland has decided to leave Guildhall to take on new challenges: we would like to thank Jeremy for his leadership and vision during his time here and wish him success in his new ventures.
Christy is an experienced senior executive with over a decade of experience in senior roles in the legal and professional services sector, most recently as a senior Director at the Law Society in London. Prior to this Christy operated as an EMEA Divisional Director for a global business process outsourcing business working with EMEA and US legal and professional services businesses. Christy has also held senior roles in UK law firms, most recently DAC Beachcroft LLP. MBA qualified, Christy has a background in operations, transformation and change, specifically within the legal sector.
Christy has been working in London and internationally for the past four years, but she and her family live in Bath and she very much welcomes the opportunity of working in her local community again and spending more time with her family.
James Townsend, Head of Guildhall Chambers, says: “I am delighted that we have appointed Christy Farrer as our new Chief Executive, starting in July: she was chosen from a very strong field of candidates, because she impressed us all with her abilities, clear thinking, and background.
“She is ideal for the post, not only for us but, more importantly, for our clients. She has worked with the legal sector for many years, in a variety of posts, most recently in a senior position with the Law Society. She therefore knows, from first-hand experience, the opportunities and challenges faced by solicitors and others within the legal community, and will therefore ensure that the services we offer continue to meet the real, practical needs of our clients.”
