On behalf of the BPC Bristol Forum, we would like to invite you along to the fourth of our series of seminars in Bristol, put together by various members of the BPC community. This event is being organised and hosted in collaboration with VWV.

The fourth event is estates-focussed and will be held at Veale Wasbrough Vizards’ Bristol offices (Narrow Quay House, Narrow Quay, Bristol, BS1 4QA) on 26 February 2026, with the programme as follows:

  • 5:00-5:30 – Joining
  • 5:30-5:40 – Chair’s address (The Honourable Mr Justice Michael Green)
  • 5:40-6:10Anomalies in the law of wills: 1837, 2026 and beyond-In honour of the 150th anniversary and 20th edition of Theobald on Wills, its editor Alexander Learmonth KC asks what’s up with double portions, deathbed gifts, secret trusts, and conditional revocation (Alexander Learmonth KC, New Square Chambers)
  • 6:10-6:40Trust In Me: Removal applications in 2025 – Following the stream of reported decisions in 2025, Ollie Murrell looks at the twists and turns of removal applications and asks: has anything changed? (Ollie Murrell, Guildhall Chambers)
  • 6:40-7:15 – Close and drinks and nibbles
